Celebration of Builders, dedicated to the commissioning of the project "Cardiological and Cardiosurgical Center" ("Thoracic Surgery Center")

"…A builder is not just a profession, it is rather a state of mind. Not for anything it is said that every project is born, lives and dies variously. It is born in various ways because different people bring it into life, different people design and build it. And it dies not when it is very old but when a part of a builders' soul leaves it. I think that the Cardiocenter will live eternally because parts of Your souls will stay here forever. This project came into being in torture, it penetrated Your hearts, minds, hands and work of many people, first of all, builders. I understand very well that probably this project is not the best in Your life and today no doubt You think of other upcoming projects. I would like to wish You other projects, even more challenging than this one now commissioned and celebrated. I myself commissioned many projects, though, of a different type, and can easily understand that when a project is completed, it loses certain attraction for builders, as they already look forward to other projects. Today we would like to recollect, how difficult the start of this project was, and although we all have been working in different fields, we still live at the same territory of Krasnodar region and could see how it was started, changed owners and once I said at the VIP meeting that if I were appointed to start this project, I would immediately quit but never start it. Why so, You may ask? Because everything obstacled construction process: there were neither estimate, nor exact assessment of the required financing, even there was no guarantee that this project would be completed as scheduled by the government of the region, as the dates seemed to me unrealistic. But, nevertheless, with all these shortcomings the project has been successfully completed and I would like to congratulate You on behalf of the Administration of Krasnodar region and managers of the construction complex of Kuban with celebration dedicated to the handing-over of the project, and to wish You the upcoming projects of the same high level".

"…There is no other equal project at the South of Russia, this is a unique equipment, thousands of saved lives in future, and, certainly, what was done by builders' hands must be handed over to our doctors and staff who shall work here and maintain this project. Because any project, well built as it may be, shall not last long, if it is not properly maintained. And I think, what has been done by builders, who implemented the most sophisticated processes here, must be carefully preserved during exploitation. This project will bring benefits, will save a lot of lives. We wish it success and many thanks to builders".

"…I am sincerely grateful to all people who took the decision to complete construction of the Cardiocenter and approved financing. It was Mr. Alexander Tkachyov, Governor of Krasnodar region and his deputies. Mikhail Zolotaryov, Managing director of the Krasnodar division of the Spare Bank of Russian Federation, who raised a credit for construction and today we are already in such a splendid building, executed by our builders. I know company "Stroi International" very well, we have always been in touch, and we see that every new project of this company is of better quality than a previous one and complies with the highest European level. For example, the Cardiocenter is finished with application of newest processes and materials. In conclusion I would like to say that no building shall operate, if it does not have good and experienced staff. Today in this building there are builders and medical personnel, the first come here to hand over the building, and the second headed by professor Vladimir Porkhanov come to work and to make the building live where kind and skillful hands of doctors shall return health to Kuban citizens and to population of the South of Russia. I am also grateful to representatives of "Vamed Engineering GmbH & CO KG" (Austria), who did not give up the project in the most difficult time and I am grateful to everybody who gave us today the opportunity to celebrate the commissioning of the project".

"Today is a momentous event when people say that this project is something to be proud of. Much to my regret I am a smoking person though I am a doctor. But when I entered the building and we have started to work here, I wished to give up smoking in order to live and to work in this splendid building longer".

" You can only imagine how glad and delighted we are. In spite of anything at last this event has taken place. Our cardiology, cardiosurgery and thoracic surgery will be rapidly progressing in this new building, with spacious areas and premises filled with the newest equipment. It is hard to believe how high is the mortality rate caused by cardio-vascular insufficiencies in our region. It comes to 53 % of the total death rate. We feel so sorry when comparatively young people, mostly male, die of these diseases. These people could have lived longer for the benefits of the state and their families. Therefore we promise that in this new building we shall take every effort to improve the quality of cardiological and thoracic aid, rendered to our citizens and to population of adjacent regions as we understand the difficult situation in health care in republics of Northern Caucasus. As I see the situation now, we shall admit the patients from all over South of Russia. Our staff is prepared to hard work, we say "Thank You very much" to builders and Administration of Krasnodar region and would like to assure You once again that from our side we shall undertake all necessary efforts".

"I was intolerant to lack of competence: I could forgive mistakes, but incompetent people were immediately expelled from the site…I think that to be involved in construction process and to be undisciplined at the same time are mutually exclusive notions. I am strongly concerned about the existing idea that we, Russians, are not capable of working. We can do anything, from the very start to the end. Today I am handing my rights over to You. But at the same time I apply to all managers and workers of my Company that we shall bear responsibility for our project. Every completed project must enrich our people in every sense. But in order to achieve this target, great efforts must be taken. A lot of work was executed at the highest level and I am rightfully proud of my specialists. Here there was a special attitude to the project, similar to the passion. I would also like to record the excellent development of the project done by "Vamed Engineering GmbH & CO KG", which withstood the time test and is adequately represented after 13 years.
